(#223) Do You Have a CEO Abundance Fund?

Ever heard of an 'Abundance Fund' and a 'Me Fund'?

An 'Abundance Fund' is a part of a CEO fund where you can use the money for urgent needs. On the other hand, a 'Me Fund' is where you get the money to invest in (or reward) yourself, whether it be some material goods or a plane ticket to your dream destination. By splitting up your money into multiple checking and savings accounts, you can organize your money and make it easier to reach your financial goals.

In this episode, I share with you some tips to help you get started with setting up your very own CEO Abundance fund. You'll hear about how I allocate my money to different bank accounts in order to fund various areas in my business— and of course, purchase the things I want for myself.

Standout Quotes:

  • "If you want to have something nice, you deserve it. You should be able to buy it. Whether that is material goods, or spending time with and/or money on your family and yourself..., treat yourself good— you worked hard for it." (03:14)
  • "The only time I would use a credit card for a big purchase is if I had the cash in the account (and I solely wanted to use my credit card for points) and then I would pay it off before it hit that bill." (05:29)
  • "What I decided to do (because of my past experience being on maternity leave for definitely longer than expected) is that I created a 'CEO fund' which would not be liquid cash available to me but more so to my business. And the purpose of that fund is to have enough money in there to, first, pay myself..., but I also wanted to have money eventually for every single team member..." (06:42)
  • "One of the things that I've learned when hosting events is that I don't like to charge a large sum of money on my operations account because the purpose of that account is to pay for regular expenses... I don't want to blend payroll money with Facebook ad money— that's another account— with events accounts." (08:59)
